Surrogate for a reservoir simulation

➤ An injection-operation in a reservoir example evaluated live for any parameter combination and any time within a given range.

➤ The original simulation is reconstructed with an AI model at a fraction of the computational cost, with an error < 1%.

A synthetic reservoir with an injection–production well pair is reproduced here as an interactive simulation, enabled by a physics-consistent surrogate model.

In this coupled hydrothermal scenario, cold water is injected at one well and hot water is extracted from the other. Pressure and temperature fields evolve together over time, influencing one another through changes in the rock properties.

The reduced-order model reproduces the original simulation at a fraction of the computational cost. Rather than repeatedly solving the governing equations throughout the domain, it learns the dominant physical patterns and the relationship between model parameters and simulation outputs.

The surrogate model below reconstructs the simulation fields in real time across a range of parameter combinations. Everything runs directly in the browser.
